This website has been created as part of an ongoing effort to maintain active public involvement and to provide information on the environmental investigation and remediation efforts at Lowry AFB. The website will be updated quarterly with more frequent postings for announcements of public meeting or forums where environmental issues may be discussed.
This web site is maintained by Lowry Assumption, LLC (LAC) and the Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment (CDPHE). We invite you to read the material published here, and contact us if you have any questions.
The former Lowry AFB is located approximately six miles southeast of downtown Denver. It includes approximately 1,866 acres and is located within the city limits of Denver and Aurora, Colorado. Lowry is currently a mixed-use community including residences, educational facilities, commercial development, and recreational areas.
The 72 acre property once known as the Buckley Annex and now referred to as Boulevard One, located west of Quebec Street between Bayaud Avenue and First Avenue is now owned by Lowry Redevelopment Authority (LRA). The property was transferred from the U.S. Air Force to the LRA by a Finding of Suitability for Transfer (FOST) in 2012. Environmental issues at this site are primarily the responsibility of the Air Force and are not discussed on this website.
