Groundwater monitoring is conducted at Lowry AFB as part of the ongoing cleanup activities. Groundwater monitoring provides data to help in evaluating progress and to verify the effectiveness of various corrective measures. The monitoring is accomplished under a Groundwater Monitoring Program (GMP).
Beginning in 2018, groundwater samples are collected bi-annually in July. Data are evaluated after each round and the results are presented in a groundwater monitoring report. The most recent groundwater monitoring report includes the July/August 2015 results for the Annual Main TCE Plume, Headquarters Area TCE Plume, Fire Traning Zone TCE Plume and the Carbon Tetrachloride Source Area.
